ABOUT US
Grace Emmanuel is a new evangelical church in the heart of Sydney’s North-West growth corridor. We are passionate about making the gospel clear - both in our words and our actions.
That means loving people well, and sharing the good news about Jesus with them.
People who follow Jesus come from different cultural, educational and economic backgrounds - just like we do. What unites us is not our ethnicity, but our identity as people who follow Jesus. That means that when you come along to Grace Emmanuel Church you’ll be accepted and understood.
Looking for a local church family? Welcome home.
We are part of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC), and partner with Reach Australia and Acts 29.
Our People
Just like it says in Psalm 107:2-3 the Lord has redeemed us from trouble and gathered us in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. Our people come from many different cultural backgrounds, and different situations in life. Each of our stories are different, but they are all stories of God’s grace. And He is weaving those stories together in a new chapter here at Grace Emmanuel Church.
Come and be part of the story with us!
Our Story
At the Reach Australia conference in May 2021, we heard about the projected growth of Western Sydney over the next 20 years. We also heard about how much of that growth will come through international migration. We saw that the Lord was bringing the nations to Australia.
From 14 years of living in the culturally diverse city of Dubai, the Lord has given us a deep love for people from all over the world. We’d not only grown to understand other cultures, but to enjoy those cultures as well. The Lord has made a world rich with diversity!
So in October 2021 we started a prayer team with just 8 people and we committed to praying this new church into being. We prayed for a location, we prayed for a venue, and we prayed for people.
One step at a time, the Lord has been answering those prayers, and building His church in Marsden Park.
Now, we meet at the Northbourne Public School at 10am on Sundays.
If you’re looking for the perfect church, we’re not it. But if you’re looking for real people following a real Jesus who’s changing us to be more like Him - then welcome home!
Jesus gave the church its mission in Matthew 28:19-20 - to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
The mission is clear - to make followers of Jesus.
The location is clear - in all nations.
The method is clear - teaching them to follow what Jesus has commanded.
In order to do that, the message must be clear also.
Paul expresses that heart as he requests the Colossians to pray for him:
“that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.” (Col 4:4)
Having been brought by God’s grace to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ we now, in dependence upon His Spirit, and in response to the love God has shown us in Christ, establish this covenant with each other;
We will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Eph 4:3)
We will be devoted to one another in Christ-like love. With humility and gentleness we will patiently bear with each other, forgiving, encouraging and building one another up, exercising watchfulness over each other and admonishing one another when necessary. (Luke 17:3; Col 3:13; 1 Thess 5:11; 1 Pet 1:22)
The Bible
We believe the Bible was inspired by God, written by men and is completely free from error as originally given. As such, it will remain to the end of the world the supreme standard and final authority and can be relied upon fully in all matters of faith and conduct today.
Our vision is to make the transforming power of the gospel clear in our church, in Marsden Park, and in the world. We want to see as many people as we can, from as many different cultural backgrounds as we can, transformed by the power of the gospel. And as that’s happening here it would result in the sending out of more church plants, and missionaries and pastors across Sydney, across Australia, and into the world. The Lord is on a mission. His mission is to exalt the name of Jesus among the nations.
Why the name Grace Emmanuel?
